Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

TrueCue collects no data. There is no account and no server: your practice stays on your devices, in your iCloud and in Apple Health.

This policy covers the TrueCue apps for Apple Watch and iPhone (“TrueCue”, “we”). We do not run any server, we have no user accounts, and we never receive your practice data, health data or payment details.

Motion sensors

While a session is running, TrueCue reads your Apple Watch’s motion sensors to find and score each stroke. The analysis happens on the watch. TrueCue keeps the result of each stroke (the scores, measurements such as angle and speed, and a short wrist path and speed curve for the charts).

Your practice data

  • Sessions, strokes, your profile (nickname, picture, stroking hand), settings and calibration are stored on your Apple Watch and iPhone, and move between them over Apple’s WatchConnectivity.
  • If iCloud is on, they are also kept in your own iCloud account (CloudKit private database and iCloud key-value storage), so they follow you to a new device. Only your Apple Account can read this data; we cannot.
  • If iCloud is off, the data stays on your devices.
  • On the watch, the TrueCue watch-face widget reads your last practice average through a shared app container (App Group). It stays on the watch.

Apple Health

  • If you allow it, the watch records each practice as a workout, so it keeps recording when your wrist is down. The workout (“Other” in Health) is saved in Apple Health with its duration, heart rate and active energy.
  • TrueCue reads heart rate and active energy only to show them during and after practice. The average heart rate and calories of a practice stay only on the iPhone that received it; they are never stored in iCloud.
  • Health data is never sent to us, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold or shared.
  • Health access is optional. You can change it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.

Purchases and the free trial

The one-time unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. TrueCue checks your purchase on the device with Apple’s StoreKit. The free-trial counter is kept in your device’s keychain and in your iCloud key-value storage.

Feedback email

If you choose Report a Problem, TrueCue opens an email in your own Mail app. You can attach device info: device model, system and app versions, language and a short summary of your last session (no name, no health data, no motion data). You see it before you send. We use your message and email address only to answer you, and do not keep them longer than needed for that.

What we do not do

  • No analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services, and no third-party SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of any data.
  • No accounts and no sign-in.
  • No camera, microphone or Photos access.

Your choices

  • Delete everything TrueCue keeps on your iPhone and in iCloud: Me › ☰ › Data & iCloud › Delete All Data
  • Workouts in Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app. Deleting the app removes its data from that device.

Children

TrueCue collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. If TrueCue ever starts collecting data, the App Store privacy label and this page will say so before that version is released.
