Bataboom! guide

Why doesn't my swing count?

Bataboom! only answers a real, level baseball swing with both arms. Chopping down, pulling your arm back or a small flick of the wrist is ignored on purpose, so everyday arm movements never set off the crack.

What counts as a swing

  • Hands together, fingers interlaced, like gripping a bat.
  • Full arms, turning around your body.
  • Level, fast and all the way through.

What is ignored

  • Chopping down: swinging from high to low like an axe.
  • Pulling back: yanking your arm back toward you instead of swinging through.
  • Small or slow movements: a wrist flick or a lazy swing. A swing that is almost fast enough plays only a whoosh, with no result.
  • In HR Challenge, a swing before the pitch is thrown does not count and does not use a chance.

Still silent? Try this

  1. Tighten your band so the watch cannot slide on your wrist.
  2. Set Swing detection to High in Settings. High catches gentler swings. Distances and scores stay the same.
  3. Check the volume: turn the Digital Crown, or use Volume in Settings. The app tells you when the volume is low.
  4. If you bat from the other side, change Batting in Settings.

The screen went dark, did it count?

Yes. When Always On is off the screen may sleep, but the game and the sound keep going. Raise your wrist to see the result, or turn on Keep screen on. See Setup: wrist, band, volume and Health.

Swing your wrist. Hear the crack.
