Back hand moving out
Your back hand moves out away from your body as you stroke through. The cue turns on your bridge, so the tip goes the other way and the cue ball leaves the line.
Common causes
- The elbow swings out to the side
- The grip is too tight
- Your head is not over the cue
How to fix it
- Move the back hand straight back and through, without the elbow drifting sideways
- Hold the cue loosely, with the thumb and two fingers
- Put your chin right above the cue
Recommended drill
Straight 10
